Interview Questions With Angela Rae

1. What made you start writing?

I enjoy books and movies, I always have.  Ive been reading nonstop since I was 13.  When I watch a movie or read a new book, I find myself often creating characters and situations that could have gone into that particular story.

2. Where do you get your inspiration to write?

Sometimes Ill just get an off the wall idea and I have to put it to paper.  My first book, One of You, I partially wrote in high school during a weird patch in my life.  When I was flipping through old stories one night, I saw it and thought to myself Hmm, how can I redo this and update it?  I spent a lot of nights at my computer until I was happy with it, and decided to post it on Myspace.  A friend said I should look into publishing it, so with the support of my husband and family, I did.

3. What books do you have published right now?

Currently:

One of You   ISBN: 1-4241-7577-1   By Angela Rae

Future:

Untitled One of You Sequel

Untitled Witch Story

4. Are you planning on writing a series in the future?

Yes, One of You is only the first book, I have a second one written, and I plan to have a 3rd and 4th.  One book to focus on each of the main characters respectively.

5. How often do you try to write?

Well, for quite a while I was writing every night, but sometimes you just get tired of focusing on the same characters all the time, so I took a little break.  Through the Christmas Season I was working my full time job at JCPenneys as well as a part time job at Borders Express, so I was very busy.  Since the holidays Im still working hard as ever, and find myself simply too tired to just sit and think of things.

6. Do you have any books in progress that you are working on this moment?

Yes, always.  As I said, I have the sequel already written, but Ive also got another story being written that Ive been told is very exciting.

7. What advice or tips would you give to young writers?

Keep a journal: If youve got something on your mind write it down.

Explore your creativity: Poetry, song, short story, painting, it doesnt matter.

Be true to yourself: Not everyones going to like what you have to say.  Who cares?  Its your opinion, not theirs.

8. Besides writing, do you have any other hobbies or activities that you participate it?

Im also a photographer.  I do weddings, senior pictures, pre school portraits and children.

9. Do you have a website, and if yes what is it?

Yes, I have one for my writing:

www.freewebs.com/angelarae

and I have one for my photography:

www.freewebs.com/angelabradley

10.  Is there anyone that you would like to thank for supporting you in your writing career?

I dedicated my first book to my husband, John.  He supported me through the whole process.

11. What genres do you write in?

I cater mainly to Young Adult, though Ive seen quite a few Adults read my first book.  I really wanted to get into Romance, but Im having my doubts on that one.

12. Have or do you plan on submitting any of your books to a movie company?

I would absolutely LOVE to have One of You on the big screen, but honestly I wouldnt know where to start.  If anyone has any names or emails Id be more than happy to send them a copy!

13. What is your name?

I write under Angela Rae, and Id prefer to be known as such.

14.  How hard was it for you to get published?

Not very hard at all.  I contacted PublishAmerica, and they told me to send them my manuscript.  The hardest, most torturous part was the wait.  When I finally got that email, I was ecstatic.

15. Where can someone order your book(s)?

I have links to everything on my website, but Ill tell you that you can order my book through:

www.publishamerica.com (click bookstore!)

www.amazon.com

at any Borders/Borders Express and Barnes & Nobles.

16. Do you think you will ever stop writing?

When my imagination has run dry, perhaps
